Description

A very appealing and popular marmalade with medium cut tender peel, made with Seville oranges.

The Wilkin family have been farming at Tiptree, Essex, since 1757, and making quality preserves there since 1885.

We grow a wide range of traditional English fruits and use them to make conserves and condiments in our nut-free factory by the farm.

Our products are made to cherished recipes and are free from artificial colours and flavours. We inspect and prepare our fruit by hand then cook in small batches using traditional, copper-bottomed pans.

We received our first Royal Warrant from George V in 1911, and remain Royal Warrant holders as purveyors of Tiptree Products to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

All Tiptree preserves are excellent; have enjoyed these for many many years. Only comment I would make is that proportion of sugar used is greater than in mine, which I think gives a more fruity flavour due to this. Contents, packaging & delivery first class - to be expected from you. (Just happen to have run out before orange season starts!)

Tiptree Orange Marmalade

I like this marmalade very much but would prefer the 'rind' to be cut a little smaller as it makes it awkward when eating! However, I shall be trying some of the other marmalades in your range when I've finished this one.

Our History

The ‘Tiptree’ story begins around the early 1700s with Trewlands, the farm that was later to become the main site for jam-making in the Essex village of Tiptree. Today, there are some 11,000 inhabitants in what may well be the largest village in the country.

Our farm is LEAF Marque accredited (Linking Environment And Farming), recognising that we work sympathetically with our environment and encourage links with our local community. Fruit crops include strawberries, raspberries, mulberries, Morello cherries, rhubarb, damson, Victoria plum, greengage, quince, and the curious medlar.
