Description

Blackberries are brought to the boil and simmered gently.

The juice and fruit is then transferred into our fruit press where it is squeezed slowly to extract the juice from the fruit.

The Wilkin family have been farming at Tiptree, Essex, since 1757, and making quality preserves there since 1885.

We grow a wide range of traditional English fruits and use them to make conserves and condiments in our nut-free factory by the farm.

Our products are made to cherished recipes and are free from artificial colours and flavours. We inspect and prepare our fruit by hand then cook in small batches using traditional, copper-bottomed pans.

My favourite

Love this jam, but haven't been able to find it locally for some time. I wondered whether the glass jar would survive being posted, but it was extremely well packed and arrived safely.

Nicest jelly

This is the best tasting BlackBerry jelly, I can find, without paying stupid prices. The only drawback is, that nobody in my area stock it, so I have got to buy it online.

Our History

Our History

The ‘Tiptree’ story begins around the early 1700s with Trewlands, the farm that was later to become the main site for jam-making in the Essex village of Tiptree. Today, there are some 11,000 inhabitants in what may well be the largest village in the country.

Our farm is LEAF Marque accredited (Linking Environment And Farming), recognising that we work sympathetically with our environment and encourage links with our local community. Fruit crops include strawberries, raspberries, mulberries, Morello cherries, rhubarb, damson, Victoria plum, greengage, quince, and the curious medlar.
