The most traditional of English puddings are made here at Tiptree from the highest quality ingredients, including French brandy and thick cut 'Tawny' Orange Marmalade.

Each pudding is hand filled in a 'Tiptree' earthenware basin, covered with a tie-on cloth and cellophane wrapped before being placed in a rigid box ready for steaming or microwave cooking.

Christmas lunch is the most important meal of the year - be sure to finish it in style.

All Tiptree Christmas Puddings are made in our nut-free factory and from 2019, the recipe is also free from Palm Oil.

Cooking Instructions

Tiptree puddings will taste better if steamed, be careful not to over-cook if you choose to use a microwave oven and always refer to the manual for your particular oven.

HEATING INSTRUCTION: This pudding is cooked and requires heating only.

STEAMING: For best result, remove packaging and steam in the basin for approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. Take care that water does not enter the pudding.

MICROWAVE: Remove outer packaging. Based on an 850W oven, microwave on full power for 3-4 minutes. Microwave ovens may vary, please refer to your microwave instruction book.

Nut free Christmas Pudding

This is the first time we have bought a Tiptree Christmas pudding. We were specifically looking for a nut free pudding as one of our guests for Christmas day has a severe nut allergy.
Most of the nut free Christmas puddings we looked at were also alcohol free, which is what we didn't want. So I sourced this one from Tiptree. I also saw on their website, that they did a Gluten free and nut free Christmas pudding! this would have been perfect for me as I am Coeliac. However, I missed the boat on this one because I had left it too late as they had sold out.
The normal nut free pudding was by all accounts the best Christmas pudding our guests had ever eaten. It was perfectly finished and presented. I will be making an order again next Christmas but will also try and get the Gluten free pudding too.

Disappointed

A beautifully packaged pud, but the experience in eating was rather disappointing, lacking in taste and sticky texture, with a heavy peel over taste which was not pleasant. Eaten over two days, first with clotted cream and then vanilla custard, both times it did not come up to expectations for a pud at this high end price point.

Best pudding we have ever tasted. In the past we have bought them to eat all year round. Very moist and packed with fruit. A very handy basin for use afterwards.

Our History

Our History

The ‘Tiptree’ story begins around the early 1700s with Trewlands, the farm that was later to become the main site for jam-making in the Essex village of Tiptree. Today, there are some 11,000 inhabitants in what may well be the largest village in the country.

Our farm is LEAF Marque accredited (Linking Environment And Farming), recognising that we work sympathetically with our environment and encourage links with our local community. Fruit crops include strawberries, raspberries, mulberries, Morello cherries, rhubarb, damson, Victoria plum, greengage, quince, and the curious medlar.
